Nalgene Cool Stuff is Well ... Almost Cool Feb 20, 2010
By J. Winburn Nalgene Cool Stuff Neoprene makes for a good insulator for your water bottle. However, one of the reasons I had purchased it was in hopes that it would be a good carrying device as well. Unfortunately, I have found the loops in it a little too tight for one's fingers to go through comfortably, and there is no way to adjust them. If it weren't for this I would give it five stars. The loops are so tight that I'm afraid I will end up tearing the material. I have just continued to carry my water bottle by the loop cap like before.

Nalgene bottle cover Nov 09, 2009

Love it, keeps water cold longer and keeps them from sweating and getting all over your table tops. Have used this backpacking as well and works fine (not as rugged as I would like it to be). Have used one for well over 18 months now and have laundered it several times with no problems. Just bought three more to be able to rotate them.

poor build quality Apr 25, 2010
By J. B. Rossman
"TheRossinator"
I am a collegiate rower and coaches require that water bottles in the boat be covered to prevent scratches to the inside of the boats. Originally I used a sock, but wanted something that looked a little classier. This product was a perfect fit. Unfortunately, within 3 weeks of owning it and using it the seams were already coming undone. I don't know if this is because of the constant sliding on in the boats because the seams that are separating are on the bottom where the end is sewn to the cylinder. Additionally the black nylon strap with the D ring is also separating due to poor sewing quality.
Also, I really have not paid attention to how well it keeps my water cool, that is not a concern of mine.

Works Great--Cold or Hot Jan 22, 2010
By B. Akins I wanted to offer a perspective on how this carrier works in extreme cold temperatures. I bought one to use on a recent January backpacking trip in the Adirondacks. The temperatures were well below freezing, and I had the carrier attached to the outside of my bag. My water didn't even ice up! I was impressed.
I have only one complaint. My bottle (32 oz.) was difficult to get in and out of the carrier, even when not wearing my gloves and with the draw cord fully loosened. I had the carrier attached through my backpack strap, so I had to take the bottle out every time I wanted a drink. It got annoying, but it wasn't that big of a deal. Overall, this is a great device for insulating water in cold weather.

Updated Version is Better, Both Fuction Nicely Dec 29, 2011
By kylemag I bought two of these items at different times. The first version came with an open stitched seam. based on some older reviews, this seam would deteriorate over time. However, it has not happened on my particular product. Also, the sleeve was just the neoprene outer in a solid blue color.
The second version had a strip of cloth covering the seam. I think nalgene did this in response to the negitive feedback for some on the original product. I feel this design is a definite improvement over the original. Also, it came with a thin rubberized coating over the majority of of the sleeve that provides excellent grip on the bottle.
As far as function goes, It keeps your liquids cooler for a much longer time. I use it for my bottle when I go to the gym because it soaks up the condensation. Otherwise, the bottle would leave the gym floor wet and present a slipping hazard. Some places might complain about stuff like that. It fits snug and you will have to work it on the first few times. But it begins to stretch and fit a little better. it has a drawstring with a cordlock that allows you to tighten snuggly around the top of your bottle.
Overall, this is an excellent product that functions nicely. I recommend this for those trying to eliminate the condensation around your bottle or keep your drinks coooler for longer periods of time. Great design from a great company.
