3Hard to suck and "activate", but tot seems to like it.  Jun 19, 2010
By J. Karlin "Ks super mom"
I bought this product wanting to get straw cups for my 15 month old and thought this would be perfect. I ran the cup through the dishwasher first and reasembled it afterward, no problems. But when I gave it to my son to drink from, he wasn't getting anything out. I tested it myself and couldn't get anything out either, and realized there was a problem. I got on this website and read reviews about other problems and squeezed the valve part of the straw really good and squished it around trying to "activate" it. It works now, and my tot can suck milk from it. BUT it is much harder to suck than the other straw cups we have. I would not reccomend buying this product unless you have tried it and know that your kid can suck hard enough. I bought a 2 pack immediately and wish I had only bought 1. Thanks for the reviews that helped us activate my straws! I would be up a creek without your comments as I have already thrown away the directions and packaging.

5Does not leak!  Apr 15, 2009
By Romy Choi
After trying out many different cups, I have settled on the Munchkin Mighty Grip Flip Straw Cup. It doesn't leak, no matter what my 16 month old son does with it. And believe me, he TRIES to make it leak. For a while I really loved the Munchkin Mighty Grip Sport Bottle, but then he figured out that if he turns it over and pushes down on the soft silicone spout, the liquid will come out. Now that's all he does with it. Since this straw cup is only activated by suction, no leaks! And it's nice that the straw flips down so it stays clean in my bag.

The only thing I would change about this cup is the width of the bottom. It's a little bit wide, so it doesn't fit in all cup holders.

For anyone having trouble getting the straw back in the lid, the flip-top detaches, creating a clear path for the straw. Then the flip-top just snaps back on over it.

2Too many parts  Nov 28, 2009
By B. Budra
Too many parts to assemble and keep track of. It's hard to get the mouthpiece through the slot since the flip cap gets in the way. Also, this cup leaks when my toddler turns it upside down. So far I have had the best luck with the strawless cups from Nuby or Boon.

5Soft straw and no leaks!  Apr 07, 2009
By Toodles!
My two 11 month olds have been using this cup for just over a month. They seem to drink a lot more water with these cups as opposed to the regular sippy cups...no need to tip the cup back when you have a straw!

It really does seem spill proof. I use a strap (Sippigrip) to keep the cup from hitting the floor when in the high chair and stroller...and many times the cup is hanging upside down - and it doesn't leak.

I also love how you can flip the straw down to keep it from getting dirty. It makes it real easy to stick this cup in my purse to run an errand and not worry about the straw getting yucky.

Cleaning/Assembly: Is pretty easy. The directions are very good and shows you how to take apart the little flippy part on the lid.

The part of the straw the kids suck on is soft...and my kids love to chew on it when not sucking on it...but the straw holds up just fine.

I also bought a pair of "Luv N' Care Nuby 12 oz Mega Sipper" and *I* like these (Munchkin) cups better from a leak and assembly point of view...although I think my kids may drink slightly better from the other (Nuby) cups. The Nuby cups are BPA-free, I'm not sure about these cups.

The first time you use these, the parent/adult should suck on the straw first to make sure it is opened up. Check the directions too - I'm pretty sure I saw tips to make sure the straw is opened...otherwise your kid will get frustrated when they can't get the liquid to come up!

I recommend these cups - I would buy another pair if I needed to!
