Sleek and Durable Apr 13, 2009

This waterbottle is simple, sleek, and ergonomic. I've had other metal waterbottles that were either too light to take much use, or had too many plastic parts attached (spouts and such) that just made it wear out faster. The stainless steel used in this bottle gives it a good weight in your hand, plenty of durability, and avoids the negative health effects of aluminum (aluminum is linked to alzheimers as well as having various other ill effects). The lid is also one solid piece of plastic, which means that it won't break easily. This is a great bottle for the value, easy to use, easy to clean, and durable.

I always make a point to do product reviews and am scrupulously honest in my assessments whether good or bad. This one is terrific. We found this bottle at our local TJ Maxx outlet for about $5.99 but unfortunately they only had one and it is so great that we are here to get more of them. I am thrilled to have found these so easily on my first Google search. My college age daughter is never without her water and needed a bottle in a durable material with absolutely NO leaks because she carries her MacBooK Pro with her and we didn't need a $6.00 water bottle ruining her $1,800 laptop or the contents of her purse, such as her cell phone, if she carried it there. We needed capacity and we needed something that would fit her smaller hand as many water bottles are simply too fat. We wanted a no-BPA product and a carry ring was a nice plus. We had bought more expensive bottles last year but they ended up leaking despite their claims so we were looking again at the start of this school year.
We are simply overjoyed to have found such a high quality product in this bottle. It is very stoutly made of the 18/8 marine grade stainless steel comparable to a good quality set of pots or pans, has a sturdy plastic lid with a seal ring that appears to be permanently attached which is also an improvement because we have lost other seal rings in the cleaning process. The lid seal is clear and I believe silicone. The bottle tapers in nicely and flares above and below the "neck" which helps you to hold on to it if your hands happen to be wet or sweaty. The carry ring is closed and also sturdy. To use, you need to loop something in it or attach a clip if desired. The capacity is very nice at 22 ounces and both the bottle and lid are BPA free. We bought the unpainted stainless version and it has a nice brushed finish that would be resistant to showing scratches and is unisex in design so any family member can grab one to use. Another plus is that the screw top neck opening is smooth for drinking and large enough to easily drop in ice from our ice maker which creates the crescent moon shaped ice chunks. The bottle is dishwasher safe but the lid is hand wash only. We often put in one drop of Dawn detergent, hot water to about half full, shake for 30 seconds to a minute, rinse well and you are good to go. The bottle is single wall and not insulated but our daughter has had no issues with condensation even using ice. That , however, would vary by personal habits. The bottle is rated for cold beverages only so if you want something for coffee or other hot beverages this is not the bottle to buy. I can honestly see this bottle lasting indefinitely and, with appropriate care, for decades. As I said in my title, this is the best water bottle we have ever bought, seriously.
UPDATE: It is now almost a year later, 8/17/11, and I have to say that we are still just as satisfied with this drink bottle and I am here to get some more today. My daughter has dropped the bottle several times in her rummagings and at most it has a small dent or two but still no leaks we are happy to report. Would still highly recommend this bottle :).

This water bottle is great because...I drop things. A lot. And I knock my belongings against poles, walls, and other solid things. This bottle seems to handle all of my abuse well.

Great item. I use it outdoors all the time. It doesn't leak. Hasn't dented.
