nice bottle... has some flaws Feb 13, 2009
By S. Carlson
"pack mule"
I love the bottles except for a couple of design flaws I found with the top. The flip-top is designed so that, when opened it sits on the bridge of your nose... this isn't much more than an annoyance, but the bottle would be better with a revision to this aspect. More importantly, the flip-top is secured to the screw-on bottle lid poorly, having only a compression, snap-in type with no hinge/latch. While the bottle is very sturdy and strong, when my 6 year old dropped his on the asphalt, the flip-top broke one of the hard plastic "nubs" that it uses to secure itself to the screw top, thus rendering the bottle useless.
Now the good stuff:
The drinking action from this bottle was, in my opinion, the best of any of the Nalgene/Camelbak re-usable sports bottle styles. The (flimsy) flip-top opens to reveal a wide spout and a vent above to make rehydrating a quick process. I found it relatively easy to down half the contents in one swig.
The extra grip afforded by the perforated sleeve makes it a step up from other bottles as well, as it won't get slick when wet, through either condensation or from being in a cooler surrounded by ice and water.
It has a built-in handle. Again, these are the little things that you find are necessary when you've used other sports bottles without them. A handle means the pack horse of the family (me)can easily carry both of my son's water bottles to basketball practice, while still having one hand free for my own stuff...
Despite the awkward and flimsy flip-top (which can be opened with one hand!) and its occasional leakiness from the screw-top (which could use an O ring), I plan to buy a couple more. If they made the design improvements to the next version, this bottle would be perfect.

better bottles out there Jul 29, 2009
By S. Beard Loved this bottle at first - the narrow size, handle, grip, and air hole which allowed for suck-free drinking. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that it leaked. The top does not seal well enough, and I was always spilling water out, on the seat of my car, down my hand while drinking, etc. In addition, it isn't dishwasher-safe like so many other choices on the market. Forgetting that, I now have a melted bottle :-( Totally my fault, but I just expect my bottles to be dishwasher-safe. Despite all the things I initially loved, I wouldn't buy it again and do not recommend it.

The Bottle Works! Apr 29, 2009

"Paddler"
We purchased four of these bottles in order to eliminate purchasing bottled water for our workouts at the gym. They work! They hold water, the cap is secure, the flip top is secure, the handle is easy and comfortable, and the perforated sleeve helps when our hands are sweaty. The flip top goes back far enough to not interfere with drinking. Overall, another great purchase from Amazon.com.

By ReaderGirl Poor quality. I bought it and it broke within 2 weeks of easy use. I don't recommend it. Hope this helps :)

They were great when we went for walks in the Arizona heat. Unfortunately, one of the handles broke off. Not as durable as we would have liked.
